Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs
As the chief academic officer for the campus, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs reports directly to the Campus Chancellor and indirectly to the Sr. Vice President/Provost and Sr. Vice President of Workforce Alignment. This role provides leadership and supervision for all campus academic schools, K-12 academic programming, and other areas such as the learning resource center, instructional technology, library services, and testing services. The Vice Chancellor serves as the chief advisor to the Chancellor on policies affecting all academic programs and is responsible for the development, coordination, staffing, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and workforce alignment of academic programs, as well as research, academic/campus planning, and budgeting.
Responsibilities
- Provides vision, leadership, coaching, and direction to all academic employees for the delivery and/or revision of quality academic programs.
- Plans, organizes, and administers academic programs and services in alignment with the campus mission, purposes, resources, and facilities.
- Coordinates and supervises the preparation of the schedule of classes and the assignment of qualified faculty for all academic offerings.
- Assembles and maintains up-to-date documents pertaining to academic services programs.
- Collaborates with Workforce Alignment to address community skill gaps through training and academic programming.
- Fosters relationships with K-12, workforce, and other community partners in collaboration with campus and systems-level leadership.
- Leads the recruitment, development, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and academic staff.
- Collaborates with Student Success, Enrollment Services, and Marketing teams to optimize student recruitment, enrollment, advising, retention, and completion.
- Ensures compliance with college policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Provides leadership for accreditation self-studies, on-site visits, and maintains program accreditation with external agencies.
- Supervises the preparation and submission of required federal and state reports related to academic programs.
- Supports campus efforts for dual credit, transfer, and articulation of programs with secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
- Develops requests for new academic programs aligned with the Workforce Alignment Quadrant Analysis and Indiana Commission for Higher Education guidance.
- Oversees the program review process and submits required reports.
- Collaborates with all campus departments to execute the College’s mission and vision.
- Serves on local and statewide committees and represents the College as needed.
- Participates in Campus Academic Officers Council meetings.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of transfer agreements.
- Works with the Campus Academic Officers Council to develop and approve academic policy for the College.
- Serves as the Campus’ Chief Conduct Officer for academic misconduct.
- As a member of the Chancellor’s cabinet:
- Assures assessment of departmental needs, develops alternative academic strategies, establishes priorities and goals, and evaluates progress.
- Oversees the development and administration of departmental budgets and determines priorities for expenditures.
- Models strong leadership and supports a campus culture of collaboration and high-quality services.
- Builds and sustains a process-managed organization focused on efficiency and cost optimization.
- Collaborates with other cabinet members to implement the College’s strategic plan.
- Executes strategic initiatives and resource allocation to achieve college-wide and campus-level metrics.
Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of FERPA, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in higher education at accredited institutions, with a combination of teaching and administrative experience; community college experience preferred.
- Experience with grant writing, budget management, accreditation processes, and program review desired.
- Adept at resolving individual and group conflicts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to identify key issues and carry forward projects from conception to execution.
- Track record of thinking conceptually and mastering complex subject matter quickly.
- Good judgment, discretion, tact, and ability to work easily with senior leaders in higher education, government, and business sectors.
- Ability to partner well with colleagues both inside and outside the organization.

Pay
$120,000–$145,000, based on skills, experience, and education.
