VFR Pilot, H125 Captain

About the Role

PHI Air Medical (operating under CAMTS guidelines) is seeking skilled helicopter pilots for 24-hour operations with day/night rotation. The role involves flying H125 aircraft under VFR/NVG conditions, with instrument rating required. Successful applicants will perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM) and support the company's safety initiatives, including the Safety Management System and Destination Zero campaign.

Pilots will assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment, participate in community outreach programs, and provide safe, efficient, and courteous service to both internal and external customers.

If the successful applicant requires aircraft transition, a 1-year minimum service requirement applies per CBA. A relocation package is available, with a 2-year minimum service requirement if utilized. Off-duty housing is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
• Support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns.
• Assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment (some lifting required).
• Work with internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
• Participate in community outreach programs.
• Adhere to PHI Air Medical policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings.
• First Class Medical certification.
• 2,000 total flight hours, including:
  • 1,500 hours in helicopters.
  • 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters.
  • 500 hours in turbine helicopters.
  • 100 hours in unaided night operations OR 50 hours unaided and 100 hours with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
• Must meet and maintain the company’s flight personnel weight restriction policy (235 lbs or less).
• Strong communication and customer service skills (both internal and external).
• Must pass pre-placement physical exam, including:
  • Functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment).
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds to assist in loading/unloading patients and equipment.
  • Drug screening and background screen.
• Annual flu vaccine not required.
• Interview and acceptance by customer/PHI management.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.

Schedule

• 14 days on, 14 days off (14&14 schedule).
