Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with your Managing Veterinarian to create a hospital culture where people feel supported, clients feel cared for, and teams can do their best work.
  • Lead and coach hospital team members.
  • Partner with the Managing Veterinarian on hospital goals and performance.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor key business metrics, budgeting, payroll, and inventory.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and employee development.
  • Address client concerns and enhance the overall client experience.
  • Build relationships with local veterinary practices and community partners.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in veterinary or healthcare management.
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, payroll, and reporting.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and operational workflows.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees, clients, and community partners.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive, collaborative workplace.
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • License/Certification: Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Ohio.
