Veterinary Technician - Urgent Care - Mid-Shift
About the role
We’re seeking a Veterinary Technician - Urgent Care to join our dynamic team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC). Located in beautiful Portland, Maine, PVESC offers a wide range of services including Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Dermatology, Neurology, Cardiology, and more.
Responsibilities
- Maintain sterile environments
- Support veterinarians during procedures
- Ensure exceptional patient care and comfort at all times
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure efficiency and safety
Requirements
- Licensed or credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT), or an experienced Veterinary Assistant
- Prior experience or interest in Urgent Care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A team-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using veterinary software systems
- A compassionate, proactive, and collaborative approach to veterinary care

Compensation
Up to $33/hour, commensurate with experience and licensure
Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position with the following available schedules:
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 12:30pm-11pm
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 12:30pm-11pm
- Some holidays required
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a licensed or credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT), or an experienced Veterinary Assistant with prior experience or interest in Urgent Care. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a team-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable using veterinary software systems. A compassionate, proactive, and collaborative approach to veterinary care is also essential.
