Veterinary Technician - Surgery
About the role
New Hope Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician with strong surgical skills to join our long-standing, full-service practice. This is a role for someone who likes being in the action, takes pride in technical precision, and wants to work alongside a team that truly values what technicians bring to the table.
We’ve been part of the New Hope community for decades, and we’ve built a reputation for thoughtful, high-quality care. Our clients trust us, our doctors respect their technicians, and our team works together without ego. Technicians here aren’t just “helping hands” — they’re trusted professionals who play a critical role in patient care.
Responsibilities
This role has a strong surgical focus, with plenty of opportunity to stay sharp and grow your skillset. You’ll:
- Prepare patients for surgery, including catheter placement, lab work, and anesthesia protocols
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia with confidence and attention to detail
- Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining efficiency in the suite
- Oversee surgical prep and maintain strict sterile technique
- Support dental procedures, including radiographs and cleanings
- Keep detailed, accurate records throughout procedures
- Jump into general technician duties as needed — because teamwork matters here
Requirements
We’re looking for a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) or equivalent hands-on experience, with several years of experience in a clinical setting and strong anesthesia and surgical skills. You should be calm, focused, and steady — especially when things get busy, and a team player who communicates well and shows up for their people.
Benefits
We offer a range of benefits, including:
- Medical, dental and vision insurance with multiple options
- Paid time off & holiday pay
- 401(k) with company match
- Company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program (Headspace)
- Employer paid short-term disability & life insurance
- Long-term disability option
- Progyny-Fertility and Family Building Support
- Digital Musculoskeletal & Physical Therapy Programs
- DailyPay on Demand
- Referral bonus program
- Employee pet care discounts
