Veterinary Technician - Surgery & Anesthesia

About the role

The surgery department at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital includes 4 board-certified surgeons, a surgery intern, and rotating interns. As a referral hospital, we handle unique and challenging cases. We seek technicians who are flexible, adaptable, and driven, with an interest in advancing their anesthesia skills, surgical knowledge, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Patient pre-op preparation and post-op monitoring
• Patient sedation and anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Radiography and assisting surgeons both in and out of the OR
• Client communication and admitting/discharging patients as needed

Requirements

• Experience working as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician with confidence in anesthesia
• Ability to provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to patients and owners
• Positive outlook and ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun

Schedule

Four 10-hour shifts per week. Overnight and weekend on-call shifts once trained.

Pay

$24.00 - $29.00 per hour based on experience. Additional pay for on-call shifts and procedural bonuses.
