About the role
Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is seeking a full-time X-Ray/Radiology Technician to join our busy emergency and specialty practice. The right candidate will manage radiographs for both emergent and specialty cases and will have the opportunity to be trained on running our CT.

We are a multispecialty practice with boarded veterinary specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology. We have been treating felines with hyperthyroid disease using radioactive iodine since 2001. Our team includes technicians with VTS credentials in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Responsibilities
- Oversee patients requiring radiographs in both emergency and specialty settings
- Safely prepare and position patients for radiographs
- Attend to patient’s needs during imaging
- Provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients, acting as a strong patient advocate during hospitalization
- Maintain all equipment on a per-use basis to ensure safety and best-practice care
- Prioritize patients based on severity and time of admission
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician
- Comfortable taking direction from doctors and technicians
- Updated knowledge of radiation protection and safety
- Comprehensive understanding of different radiograph techniques
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
- Proactive thinking and a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun
Schedule
4-day schedule including one weekend day, 8AM – 7PM.
Pay
$23/hr - $34/hr depending on skills, experience, and credentials, plus overnight shift differentials.
