Veterinary Technician - Radiology

About the Role

Garden State Veterinary Services in Woodbridge, NJ is seeking a full-time X-Ray/Radiology Technician to join our busy emergency and specialty practice. The right candidate will manage all radiographs scheduled for both emergent and specialty cases and will have the opportunity to be trained on running our CT.

We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Neurology, and Critical Care. Our clients and patients also have access to Ophthalmology, Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Dermatology, and Radioactive Iodine treatment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patients that require radiographs in both emergency and specialty settings
• Safely prepare and position patients for radiographs
• Attend to patient’s needs during imaging
• Provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and be a strong patient advocate during hospitalization
• Maintain all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
• Prioritize patients depending on severity and time of admit

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician
• Comfortable taking direction from doctors and technicians
• Updated knowledge of radiation protection and safety
• Comprehensive understanding of different radiograph techniques
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Organizational skills, proactive thinking, and a positive attitude
• Positive outlook and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
• Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun

Schedule

• Sunday - Wednesday, 8am - 7pm
• Wednesday - Saturday, 8am - 7pm

Pay

$23/hr - $34/hr depending on skills, experience, and credentials
