About the role

The Cardiology Technician/Assistant works collaboratively with their assigned veterinarian, other staff veterinarians and the entire Angell West support staff to provide our clientele with excellent clinical and customer service. These services include providing technical support in the examination room with outpatient and in-patient procedures, assisting with case management of animals admitted to the hospital, assisting with technical procedures, communications with clients and sometimes referring veterinarians. They assist the veterinarian in clinic, radiology and in other areas of the hospital as needed.

Schedule

Part Time 20 Hours a Week, Monday and Tuesday 7:30am-6pm, some holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the other Cardiology staff members, preparing histories for the appointments, creating admission packets including generating estimates, setting up the appointment room and handling the patient for exams as needed.
  • Transport animals safely adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Return client calls/emails in order of priority, relaying messages to doctors as needed.
  • Scheduling recheck exams, diagnostic imaging as needed.
  • Maintain communication with clients as directed by the doctor.
  • Complete all required paperwork neatly and accurately.
  • Maintain electronic and hardcopy medical records accurately.

Pay

  • Veterinary Assistants starting $22-$27/hour
  • Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $25-$30/hour

Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience working as a veterinary technician/assistant.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-veterinarian hospital, emergency practice, or veterinary teaching hospital is ideal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
