About the role

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital offers the opportunity to work in a new, 100,000+ sq. ft. state-of-the-art hospital designed for advanced specialty and emergency care. The hospital features MRI, CT, PET scanning, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated ER, and expanded training spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of daily tasks while collaborating closely with all departments across the hospital.
  • Provide care for hospitalized patients, assessing their status and facilitating treatments under the direction of the supervising veterinarian.
  • Communicate effectively with the supervising veterinarian and address patient concerns as they arise.
  • Work with doctors, technicians, and assistants to perform diagnostics and execute treatment plans for hospitalized patients.

Requirements

  • LVT, CVT, or RVT credential preferred.
  • Three years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a veterinary hospital.
  • Previous experience working in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, electronic medical records, and data entry.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency and critical care environment.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) required.
  • RECOVER CPR certification a plus.
  • Experience managing critically ill and hospitalized patients preferred.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Basic husbandry and care for domestic and exotic patients.
  • Nursing procedures such as phlebotomy, IVC/IVF therapy, cystocentesis, urinary catheter care, medication administration, restraint, in- and out-patient care, abdominocentesis/thoracocentesis/pericardiocentesis, oxygen cage operation, transfusion therapy, PICC line care, recumbent patient care, feeding and sampling line care.
  • Record keeping, equipment operation, stocking and cleaning, aftercare.
  • Knowledge and adherence to hospital policies.

Pay

  • Credentialed Technicians: $27 - $37/hr. based on experience.
  • Non-Credentialed Technicians: $24 - $32/hr. based on experience.

Schedule

  • Full-Time.
  • Sunday - Tuesday: 9:00am – 10:00pm.
