Veterinary Technician, ICU Overnight

About the role

PEAK Veterinary Referral Center in Williston, VT is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team. This part-time overnight Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys fast paced urgent care medicine while providing advanced nursing care for hospitalized patients.

Responsibilities

- Provide advanced nursing care for ICU, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Urgent Care patients - Monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients while recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition - Perform technical skills including IV catheter placement, medication administration, dosage calculations, and fluid therapy management - Provide nutritional support and individualized nursing care for hospitalized patients - Collect, prepare, and process diagnostic laboratory samples - Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, specialty procedures, and advanced patient care - Support patient stabilization and ongoing critical care monitoring - Maintain accurate and detailed medical records - Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients regarding hospitalized patients - Support inventory management for medications, equipment, and ICU supplies - Collaborate closely with specialists, urgent care clinicians, Veterinary Technicians, and support teams to provide exceptional patient care

Requirements

- 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience required - ICU, Emergency, urgent care, or specialty veterinary experience strongly preferred - CVT, RVT, or LVT credential preferred - Strong technical nursing skills and attention to detail - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-specialty environment - Excellent communication and client service skills - Team-oriented, dependable, and motivated to learn
