Veterinary Technician ER/ICU

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. We seek technicians who thrive in a fast-paced learning environment and are passionate about delivering care and comfort to critically ill or injured pets. Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and operate anesthesia/monitoring equipment
• Triage emergency cases upon arrival, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique and patient positioning
• Understand normal ranges for patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the veterinarian to changes and issues
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters
• Mentor and train coworkers
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy
