Veterinary Technician, Emergency & Critical Care
Job Description
Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in the daily operations of Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES). They are essential in supporting our practitioners, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maximizing the efficiency of the medical team. By handling technical tasks and managing administrative responsibilities, technicians enable our practitioners to focus fully on medical priorities and deliver exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Restrain pets, prepare/administer medications, and assist in exams, procedures, and surgeries.
- Monitor anesthesia, provide supportive therapy, and teach clients how to administer treatments.
- Prepare patients for discharge and communicate status updates to the care team and clients.
- Record patient histories, treatments, and procedures accurately for invoicing and records.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed progress notes.
- Schedule procedures, relay accurate information to clients, and seek help when needed.
Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or Experienced Veterinary Technicians with at least 3 years of experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Pay
Credentialed Technician: $24+/hr. based on experience
Non-Credentialed Technicians: $21+/hr. based on experience
