Emergency Department Clinical Supervisor (RVT Preferred)

Responsibilities
- Be a visible, on-the-floor clinical leader
- Model advanced RVT-level skills and high standards of patient care
- Actively train, coach, and mentor technicians and assistants in emergency procedures
- Elevate technical proficiency across the department
- Identify skill gaps and create structured, measurable training plans
- Foster confidence, accountability, and professional growth within the team
- Lead by example in high-pressure emergency situations
- Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance conversations focused on development
- Support new hire onboarding and ensure clinical competencies are met
- Partner with doctors and hospital leadership to strengthen workflow and communication
- Build schedules that support patient care and team sustainability
- Address team dynamics proactively while reinforcing a respectful, growth-oriented culture
Requirements
- RVT license strongly preferred—advanced clinical skillset required
- Promised experience training and mentoring veterinary technicians
- Leadership experience in ER, Specialty, or Urgent Care settings
- 3+ years in a clinical veterinary role with demonstrated technical proficiency
- Ability to coach others in emergency procedures, anesthesia, critical care, and patient monitoring
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
- Confidence in holding team members accountable while supporting growth
- Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (a plus)
- Ability to maintain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (or CARVT license)
- Valid California driver’s license, registration, and minimum insurance
Physical Requirements
- Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. multiple times per shift
- Bending and standing for extended periods
- Safely restraining animals up to 40 lbs.
Compensation
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience and credentials)
