About the Role

GSVS is a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology. We have been treating felines with hyperthyroid disease using radioactive iodine since 2001 and have technicians with VTS credentials in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

Responsibilities
- Assist with general anesthesia and sedated procedures, including dental scaling and probing
- Set up CRIs and perform medical math calculations
- Place IV catheters and institute fluid therapy
- Position patients for radiographs and ensure radiation safety
- Provide quality, compassionate care for hospitalized patients
- Prepare and administer blood and plasma transfusions
- Maintain accurate treatment sheets and anesthesia records
- Monitor capnography, pulse oximetry, ECG, and blood pressure
- Obtain and prepare blood samples for diagnostic testing
- Educate clients on a wide range of at-home care topics
Requirements
- CVT/LVT/RVT preferred, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Technician
- Comprehensive understanding of and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Understanding of normal vs. abnormal physiologic ranges
- Commitment to mentoring and training veterinary assistants
- Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
- Positive outlook and friendly, team-oriented attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver exceptional client service
