What You'll Do
- Aid veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
- Provide compassionate nursing care to patients throughout their hospital visit
- Safely handle and restrain patients using thoughtful, low-stress techniques
- Obtain patient histories and vital signs
- Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples
- Place IV catheters and assist with fluid therapy
- Perform laboratory testing and support diagnostic procedures
- Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Maintain accurate anesthetic records
- Assist with dental procedures and preventive care
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients throughout their pet’s care
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow support team members
- Share your knowledge while remaining open to learning from others
- Help create an exceptional experience for every patient and client
What You'll Bring
- An active LVT/RVT/CVT credential or eligibility for licensure following successful completion of the VTNE
