Veterinary Technician

About the role

Del Norte Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting in surgery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Requirements

• 1+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Accurate medical record documentation
  • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Client education and communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning
• Active and recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply

Pay

$19 - $25 per hour

Schedule

This is a flexible, full-time, or part-time position, with 10-hour shifts and availability needed Monday-Saturday.
