About the role

At Swift Creek Animal Hospital, we’ve proudly served the Raleigh/Cary community for more than 30 years. With 5 experienced doctors, a busy surgical caseload, and a collaborative team culture, we’re committed to delivering exceptional veterinary medicine while fostering a supportive and positive workplace. We’re currently seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Aid veterinarians with appointments, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Safely monitor anesthesia and patient recovery during surgical and dental procedures
  • Collect laboratory samples, perform diagnostic testing, and maintain accurate medical records
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
  • Support and mentor assistants and newer team members as needed
  • Help ensure a smooth daily workflow while delivering compassionate patient care

Requirements

  • Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in North Carolina
  • 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred
  • Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, dental procedures, in-house diagnostics, medication administration, and patient care
  • Strong knowledge of canine and feline vaccines, preventatives, and nursing care
  • Experience assisting in surgery and monitoring sedated or anesthetized patients
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Experience with veterinary software systems (Avimark experience a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support coworkers and jump in where needed

Schedule

Full-Time | 30–40 hrs/week | 1 Saturday/month (8 AM–12 PM)
