Essential Job Functions
- Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments or walk-ins and obtain weight and vital signs.
- Documentation of the patient visit in the medical record by obtaining and recording a thorough patient history.
- Assist veterinarian with appointments (routine and urgent), and euthanasia's, taking direct supervision from the veterinarian(s) or Hospital Lead on Duty.
- Perform patient restraint, obtain and collect process laboratory samples, handle and dispense medications at the direction of the veterinarian, and input in medical record.
- Check out clients, schedule appointments, communicate with and educate clients, relay test results to doctor and clients.
- Provide in-hospital treatments for sick patients including giving injectable and oral medications as well as intravenous therapies; keep patients clean, watered, and fed (when indicated and directed by veterinarian), and safely walk canine patients when necessary for elimination.
- Collaborate with the team to create a positive work environment and assist with onboarding new employees.
- Keep hospital environment neat and clean; perform regular cleaning.
- Participate in ongoing training and hospital improvement initiatives
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred
- Skilled in: venipuncture and IV catheter placement, patient restraint and treatments, Diagnostic imaging and in house labs
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Flexible schedule availability including rotating Saturdays
Pay Range
Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00 depending on experience and certification
