About the role

Western Veterinary Partners (WVP) offers veterinary externships as part of our commitment to supporting the professional and personal growth of veterinary students. Our externship program provides a unique opportunity for students to gain meaningful hands-on experience, build lasting professional relationships, and explore the type of practice that best fits their future career goals.

Responsibilities

During an externship with WVP, you will: - Work closely with experienced veterinarians and veterinary teams - Gain exposure to various aspects of veterinary medicine including physical examinations, client communication, diagnostic planning, treatment planning, in-house laboratory procedures, surgical and dental procedures, medical record documentation, time management, and team collaboration - Participate in case discussions and learn about treatment planning and case management

Requirements

To qualify for an externship with WVP, you must: - Be a veterinary student in any year of veterinary school - Have completed prerequisite coursework and passed the required licensing exams - Be able to commit to a minimum of 8 weeks of full-time externship - Possess strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn
