Veterinary Student Externship

Description Overview

United Veterinary Care hosts veterinary students for externships across 100+ hospital locations in 20+ states. These clinical experiences allow students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings.

Eligibility requirements

• Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
• Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance

Crossroads Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility in Alabama, treating dogs, cats, exotics, and offering services such as ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, wellness/preventative care, and medical appointments.

What to expect from your externship

• Active participation in cases to develop your skills towards becoming a veterinarian
• Supervision by experienced veterinarians and skilled support staff
• Inclusion in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments
• Discussion of cases with your supervising veterinarian and verification of exam findings
