About the Externship
PVESC’s externship program provides veterinary students with valuable exposure to advanced patient care while working alongside experienced emergency clinicians, specialists, technicians, and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Gain experience in emergency and critical care medicine
- Gain experience in specialty medicine and surgery
- Observe and assist with diagnostic imaging and advanced diagnostics
- Participate in inpatient care and case management
- Develop practical clinical skills through clinical decision-making and treatment planning
- Communicate effectively with clients and collaborate on patient care
Requirements
We welcome applications from: Current DVM students enrolled in an accredited veterinary school Students interested in emergency, specialty, or advanced small animal medicine Motivated team players who are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative clinical setting
