Veterinary Rehabilitation Technician

About the role

Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital - Round Rock is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join a growing rehabilitation team. This role focuses on helping pets recover, rebuild strength, and improve their quality of life through hands-on care, compassionate client communication, and collaboration with doctors and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist the practitioner with patient evaluations
• Perform rehabilitation treatments throughout the day
• Provide clear, compassionate communication with clients
• Assist with ice, laser, and other prescribed rehabilitation treatments
• Maintain a clean work area
• Ensure consistent, regular attendance and on-time arrival
• Work well with others as a team and adapt to a changing environment
• Handle stress and pressure calmly and professionally
• Multitask, prioritize, and delegate appropriately
• Learn new tasks quickly and accept constructive criticism

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience working as a veterinary technician
• Experience working with animals and knowledge of basic animal restraint techniques
• Excellent communication skills with clients and coworkers
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills
• Physical therapy education or experience preferred
• Must complete regular Continuing Education classes related to the role

Physical Requirements

• Frequently bend, stand, and restrain animals for extended periods
• Lift up to forty (40) pounds; assistance required for heavier animals or materials

Work Environment

• Exposure to aggressive patients, infectious/contagious diseases, and controlled substances
• Unpleasant odors, noises, and risk of bites or scratches
• Handling of animal waste
