About the role
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Durham & Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time Board-Certified or residency-trained Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join their state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Bring world-class eye care to pets while collaborating with a team of leading specialists in a supportive, thriving environment.
- Work in a 3-hospital multispecialty small animal practice composed of specialties including internal medicine, surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, neurology, dentistry, clinical nutrition, anesthesiology, and critical care.
- Staffed by talented ER veterinarians and a rotating class of interns.
- Proudly provide expert, timely, collaborative, and compassionate care.
- Participate in formal communication training to enhance teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
- Board-Certified or residency-trained in veterinary ophthalmology.
- Experience in emergency and specialty settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited school.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina.
- Passing scores on the AVMA Council on Ophthalmic Examinations (COE) or equivalent certification exam.

Pay
Annual base salary starting at $160,000 + quarterly production bonus potential.
Schedule
Full-time position with flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the practice and the individual veterinarian.
