Major Duties
- Implements the policies, rules, and procedures for the assigned national commodity animal health program in support of the mission.
- Conducts outreach and communicates program activities, services, policies, regulations, and procedures to various stakeholder groups.
- Affords assistance with the development and implementation of commodity-specific operational plans or equivalent planning documents.
- Identifies critical animal health surveillance, preparedness and response needs and problems, and develops new professional approaches or methods to resolve them.
- Assesses and evaluates domestic animal disease events in assigned commodity area including causation, risk factors, and current global status.
- Implements solutions for disease program issues in assigned commodity area using technical reviews and interpretation of appropriate scientific data.
