About the role
Dogs and Cats Emergency and Specialty (DCES) is actively seeking an experienced intern-trained Veterinary ER Doctor or residency-trained Veterinary Specialist to join our team as the Medical Director.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possesses a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, ideally in an Emergency/Specialty hospital
- Minimum of 1-2 years of leadership experience, preferred

Schedule
We understand that work-life balance is critical to your well-being. With this in mind, we designed the schedule as follows:
- 4-day work week
- A minimum of 50% of time spent on administrative duties
- Competitive base salary ranging from $220,000- $250,000 and monthly production bonus, with earning potential of $275k+ annually and no negative accrual
- Continuing education allowance of $3k annually, with an additional week of PTO to ensure you are able to focus on learning
- 3 weeks of vacation annually, with additional sick time accrual
- 1 additional Wellness Day Off annually

Role and Responsibilities
The Medical Director is responsible for providing medical leadership for our hospital, managing associate and lead veterinarians, and ensuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine. The Medical Director is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered to as many patients as possible in a way that is sustainable and efficient for our medical team. In partnership with the existing Hospital Leadership Team, the Medical Director is responsible for the financial performance of the hospital, preparing operating and capital budgets, and helping the hospital to achieve financial success and growth by modeling healthy business and medical practices.
