Veterinary Medical Director
About the role
The Medical Director at Avets Specialty and Emergency Trauma Center is a dynamic, 50% clinical and 50% administrative position designed for someone ready to make a meaningful impact on both patient care and hospital culture. This role partners closely with the Hospital Administrator to guide a talented team of 18 veterinarians and 2 ECC VTS staff trainers, fostering growth, mentorship, and collaboration at every level. The position comes with a management stipend and lifestyle bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Guide a team of 18 veterinarians and 2 ECC VTS staff trainers
- Partner with the Hospital Administrator to ensure high-quality patient care and hospital culture
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the team and improve patient outcomes
- Mentor and develop veterinarians and staff trainers
- Collaborate with primary care veterinarians and pet owners to enhance communication and care
Requirements
- Advanced degree in veterinary medicine
- Board certification in a relevant specialty
- Experience in a leadership role within a veterinary practice
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
