Veterinary Medical Director

About the role

The Medical Director will lead the emergency and specialty clinicians at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville, TN. They will partner with hospital administration to create a supportive and engaging work environment, focusing on medical quality, clinician-driven culture, and clinician recruitment, engagement, and retention.

Responsibilities

• Uphold medical quality standards, including patient care, client and referral veterinarian satisfaction, and patient safety.
• Support quality and operational initiatives.
• Foster a clinician-driven culture and learning environment.
• Clinician recruiting, engagement, and retention.
• Work harmoniously with other clinicians, staff, and referring veterinarians.
• Make personal visits to referring veterinarians' practices, present CE programs, and discuss cases by phone.
• Create a positive impact on the culture by making a significant contribution to the growth of the internal medicine department.

Requirements

• Several years of clinical experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A self-motivated, collaborative, and harmonious approach to working with others.
• Willingness to interact with referring veterinarians in various ways, including making personal visits and presenting CE programs.
