Veterinary Extern - Western Michigan

About the role

Animal Clinic of Muskegon is excited to welcome student externs to our collaborative, mentorship-driven practice. As a veterinary extern, you will have hands-on experience with exams, diagnostics, and case management, exposure to surgery and dentistry, one-on-one mentorship from experienced DVMs, and the opportunity to develop clinical decision-making and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with exams, diagnostics, and case management
• Exposure to surgery and dentistry (based on comfort and skill level)
• One-on-one mentorship from experienced, supportive DVMs
• Collaborative team environment with skilled technicians and staff
• Opportunity to develop clinical decision-making and client communication skills

Requirements

• Current 3rd or 4th year veterinary students
• Eager learners with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Passion for small animal medicine and client care
• Interest in gaining practical, real-world experience in a supportive setting
