About the role
Externship at Union Pet Hospital in Union, Kentucky—a small-town clinic with big-time surgical capabilities and a welcoming, hands-on environment. This is not just shadowing; you’ll actively participate in a wide range of cases, including routine wellness, emergency medicine, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.
We’re a teaching hospital at heart, offering mentorship, teamwork, and exposure to surgery, radiology, and diagnostics. Expect a supportive atmosphere where learning, laughter, and real talk about life in vet med are part of the experience.
Located in Northern Kentucky, just minutes from Cincinnati, with scenic river views, rolling hills, and easy access to bourbon country.
Responsibilities
- Participate in routine wellness exams, emergency medicine, and surgical procedures (including orthopedic and soft tissue surgery).
- Engage in diagnostics, radiology, and other clinical activities.
- Work as part of the team, contributing to patient care and learning from experienced mentors.
- Gain real-world experience to build confidence and enhance your resume.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited veterinary program.
- Passionate, curious, and eager to dive into hands-on learning.
- Interested in a small-town clinic experience with access to big-city resources.
- Seeking to fulfill required externship hours or earn academic credit.
