Veterinary Extern - Avian and Exotics

Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians
• Gain experience in gathering patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Diagnose using state-of-the-art diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, and digital x-rays
• Practice dental care
• Assist or perform surgical procedures under supervision
• Manage medical cases
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled veterinary students
• Must be in the clinical portion of their education
• Eligible for a travel/living expense stipend
