About the role

Thrive Pet Healthcare is looking to add a Veterinary Criticalist to the Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center team. Join our beautiful new 15,000-square-foot facility in the Austin/Round Rock area. You'll be part of a collaborative specialty and emergency team with access to Critical Care/Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Dentistry, Cardiology support, and seven-day imaging support. AAHA-accredited, Fear Free certified, full-service hospital. Our services are available 24/7 to companion animals in Austin and nearby areas. We have an outside contractor for cardiology and a sonographer available for imaging Monday–Sunday. Collaboration and Critical Care support from our nearby Pet Specialists of Austin team and Criticalist.

In addition to being home to many technology corporations, Austin is known as "The Live Music Capital of the World," highlighted by a robust restaurant scene, multiple festivals, many outdoor activities, and water sports at the area lakes/rivers. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, before their start date
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
  • Board Certified Veterinary Criticalist or Residency Trained Veterinarian
