Veterinary Clinician (Small Animal Medicine)

About the role

Treatment of clinical cases of companion animals at UNAM Veterinary Hospital, including medicine ward and outpatient facility in Windhoek. Active participation in research and community service in the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Lecturing veterinary students in selected topics in companion animal clinical studies as determined by the Head of Department, as well as practicals.
• Conduct practical sessions in the Skills lab/wet lab, and where applicable with live animals.
• Conduct continuous assessment of students.
• Participate in organization and implementation of sixth year clinical rotation training.

Requirements

• Unconditional Registration as a Veterinarian in Namibia.
• At least 5 years of proven clinical experience in companion animals.
• Sufficient exposure to and competence in companion animal clinical practice including basic surgery, sterilizations, and internal medicine.
• B.V.M or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in education and current participation in community service activities will be an advantage.
• Clinical expertise may be practically assessed in shortlisted candidates.
