Veterinary Assistant - Primary Care

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Pieper Veterinary in Marlborough, CT. Our mission is to provide top-notch service to every pet and pet parent, making the community and the animals and people in it happier and healthier.

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain animals
• Assist with basic surgical preparations
• Collaborate with Veterinary Technicians
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members
• Participate in in-house continuing education opportunities
• Work full-time: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8am-6pm
• One Saturday per month required

Requirements

• Prior experience in a veterinary setting
• Experience with handling and performing basic animal care tasks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and remain organized
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology
• Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations
• Willingness to collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members
• Willingness to continue learning and staying updated on veterinary practices
• Must be 18 years or older to apply
