We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Essex Veterinary Clinic located in Essex, CT. Responsibilities
- Handle and restrain animals with confidence and care
- Support Veterinary Technicians in clinical settings
- Perform basic animal care tasks
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
- Multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members
- Take direction and adapt to new tasks and procedures
- Continue learning and staying updated on veterinary practices
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a veterinary setting
- Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Compassion and patience when handling animals
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology
- Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations
- Willingness to take direction and adapt to new tasks and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Punctuality and reliability, with a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a compassionate approach to client care
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
Qualifications

Pay
- $17.00-$18.00 an hour
Schedule
- This is a Full-Time position: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - 8am-6pm
