We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Essex Veterinary Clinic located in Essex, CT. Responsibilities

  • Handle and restrain animals with confidence and care
  • Support Veterinary Technicians in clinical settings
  • Perform basic animal care tasks
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
  • Multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members
  • Take direction and adapt to new tasks and procedures
  • Continue learning and staying updated on veterinary practices

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a veterinary setting
  • Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassion and patience when handling animals
  • Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations
  • Willingness to take direction and adapt to new tasks and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Punctuality and reliability, with a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and a compassionate approach to client care
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply

Qualifications

  • Must have prior experience working in a veterinary setting

Pay

  • $17.00-$18.00 an hour

Schedule

  • This is a Full-Time position: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - 8am-6pm
