Veterinary Assistant - Part-Time

About the role

Join The VCA Amor Animal Hospital Team as a Veterinary Assistant! Located in West Jordan, UT, this position offers part-time hours with pay ranging from $16.00 to $21.00 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for pets and their owners.
• Support the Technician and Doctor teams by assisting with patient exams and routine procedures.
• Take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Fulfill prescription needs (within legal limits).
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Care for hospitalized animals with compassion.
• Maintain medical records and ensure a clean, safe hospital environment.
• Assist the Doctor and Technician teams as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Current CPR certification.

Pay
