Join Northwind Animal Hospital in Parkville, MD, a busy and growing practice known for its high-quality medicine and compassionate care. We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential patient care, assisting veterinarians and technicians with hands-on tasks and ensuring every animal receives compassionate treatment.
- Support the medical team by anticipating and addressing their needs, maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Create a positive client experience by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always maintaining a courteous and informative approach.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of animal hospital experience.
- Proficient in venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
- Experienced with dental prophylaxis, charting, and dental radiography.
- Capable of monitoring and running anesthetic cases.
- Skilled in client education and familiar with vaccination protocols.
- Comfortable working with Avimark software and Idexx lab equipment.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
- Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.

Pay
$22 - $26/hour (based on experience)
Schedule
4 days a week with a rotating Saturday.
