Veterinary Assistant Neurology
About the Role
The veterinary assistant that we are looking for will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe space for neurology consultations and treatments in addition to:
- Support technicians and doctors as needed
- Support other departments in the hospital as needed, leadership guided
- Safe, low stress patient restraint for catheter placement and medication administration
- Aid in the smooth transition between each consultation/procedure
- Assist with laboratory tests, MRI's, CT's, and radiographs
- Filling prescriptions, calculating and administering medications, maintaining proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs
- Aid in the setup and breakdown of the operating room
- Aid in sterile procedures by opening/unwrapping sterile packs & instruments and giving them to the surgeon or surgical assistant in a sterile fashion
- Performing daily, weekly, and monthly department tasks and maintenance of equipment
About You
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and someone who is a team player and likes to work within a diverse group of technicians and doctors.
- Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a progressive veterinary hospital
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and a commitment to developing long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required
- Maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in stressful situations
Pay Range
VA: $23- $35 per hour
Career opportunities and compensation are negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
Schedule
4/10 hour days. Days to be determined
Must be available on weekends and holidays as well as procedural on-calls
