About the role

VCA Broad Street Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and positive-minded Veterinary Assistant to join their growing team. They are a busy 3-doctor practice in Fuquay-Varina, dedicated to high-quality medicine with a focus on client education. The practice prides itself on developing strong relationships with both clients and patients and providing the best care possible in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with newer technology.

Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge and skills to assist veterinarians in various aspects of animal care
• Perform patient assessments
• Provide client education and care
• Assist with venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, dentistry, laboratory work, pharmacy knowledge, and patient recovery
• Show compassion and teamwork in patient care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience as a veterinary assistant or similar role
• Current certification as a veterinary technician (VTAS)
• Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and equipment
• Ability to work weekends
