About the role

VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is a 24-hour AAHA-accredited hybrid GP/ER hospital in Sacramento seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing Emergency & Critical Care team.

Responsibilities

• Thrives in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Enjoys critical thinking and inpatient care
• Works well independently while valuing teamwork and communication
• Is adaptable, motivated, and eager to continue growing their skillset
• Previous ER, urgent care, or high-volume veterinary experience is strongly preferred
• Supports emergency triage and patient stabilization
• Participates in inpatient and ICU treatments and monitoring
• Performs venipuncture and catheter placement
• Supports laboratory and diagnostic support
• Contributes to critical patient care
• Communicates with clients and educates them
• Collaborates with DVMs across emergency, inpatient, and GP services

Pay

$22 - $25/hr

Full-time 4x10 scheduling designed to promote work-life balance, with schedules posted one month in advance to support schedule planning.
