Veterinary Assistant - Emergency

About the role

VCA Cottonwood Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at 6360 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. This full‑time position works four 10‑hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an outstanding client experience to win the confidence of every pet parent.
• Perform venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Conduct radiology procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical preparation and procedures.
• Assist with dentistry.
• Carry out physical examinations and patient assessments.
• Perform laboratory work and pharmacy tasks.
• Provide patient recovery and compassionate care for hospitalized patients.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Strong belief in high‑quality veterinary medicine and patient care.
• Technical know‑how to perform the duties listed above.
• Ability to work rotating weekends.

Schedule
