Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative - New Castle Veterinary Hospital - NY

New Castle Veterinary Hospital is looking for a friendly, dependable, and team-oriented part-time team member to join our hospital. This unique opportunity combines hands-on patient care with exceptional client service, supporting both our treatment area and front desk.

Schedule

• Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Every Other Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Pay

$19.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
• Safely restrain patients and support routine procedures
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized hospital
• Stock supplies and assist with daily hospital operations
• Provide support during medical procedures, including setting up equipment, holding animals, and monitoring their well-being
• Welcome clients and provide outstanding customer service
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and process payments
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary team
• Jump in wherever needed to help support the hospital and create a positive experience for our patients and clients

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting
• Strong animal handling skills and comfort working with a variety of species
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow directions closely
• Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina to lift and carry animals, stand for extended periods, and perform cleaning tasks
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
