About the role
Forest Grove Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional experiences for clients and patients across various aspects of hospital care.
Responsibilities
- Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
- Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
- Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
- Venipuncture and administering injections
- Radiology positioning and safety protocols
- Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
- Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role
- Experience with venipuncture and administering injections
- Knowledge of radiology positioning and safety protocols
- Ability to accurately administer medications and perform laboratory sample collection
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay and Schedule
Compensation: $18 - $22 per hour, for each hour worked. This is a flexible full-time or part-time position, with options for 5/8 or 4/10 scheduling. Availability is needed Monday through Friday. Full-time Benefits Package*
