Chewelah Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Qualifications and Skills

1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred.

• Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
• Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service

Pay

Compensation: $17.50-18.00 per hour, for each hour worked. This is a flexible position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday with rotating Saturdays. Rotating on-call on either Monday or Wednesday. $25 on-call fee and $25 for each emergency seen + regular hourly pay.
