Family Pet Clinic of Newberg is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and stress-free restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and stress-free restraint skills for dogs, cats, pocket pets, and reptiles of varying sizes and temperaments
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Surgical setup and assisting
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
• Experience with radiographs and positioning
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members

Schedule

This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday with a rotating Saturday. Saturday shifts are generally scheduled every other Saturday, with the possibility of working two consecutive Saturdays based on scheduling needs.

Pay

Compensation: $19 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked.
