Veterinary Assistant
About the role
River Valley Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Our outpatient care team plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care during appointments by coordinating and executing treatment plans and providing thorough client education.
Responsibilities
- Assist during exams and outpatient care
- Maintain detailed medical records
- Review treatment plans
- Address clients' questions
- Clock in/out and manage schedules
- Coordinate with team to manage veterinarians’ orders
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and take payments from clients
Requirements
- 1-3 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Proficiency in IV Catheter Placements/Venipuncture
- Dental Assisting and radiographs
- Proficient with Idexx or lab equipment
- Surgical Assisting and patient recovery
- Client Communication and Education
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check

Pay
We offer a competitive compensation starting at $16-$19 per hour based on hours worked. Full-time benefits and compensation details are subject to negotiation based on the applicant's education, training, or experience related to the job position, geographic location where the work is performed, and other relevant factors.
Schedule
We are open to a full or part-time person, with a 4/10 and 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday until 6pm. Every other Saturday is required.
