About the role
Position Details
- Role: Veterinary Assistant
- Status: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30 am-5:30 pm and rotating Saturdays 8:00 am-12:00 pm
Responsibilities
What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient examinations and treatments
- Safely restrain patients for procedures and diagnostics
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect laboratory samples and assist with in-house diagnostics
- Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing support
- Educate clients on basic patient care, medications, and preventive health
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Keep the hospital clean, organized, and well stocked
- Support daily hospital operations while providing exceptional client service
Requirements
