Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Midtown Animal Hospital is growing, and we're excited to welcome two new DVMs to our team this summer. As our hospital continues to expand, we're looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow alongside us. You'll join a collaborative, multi-doctor practice where teamwork, compassion, and high-quality patient care are at the heart of everything we do.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and safely handle pets for exams and treatments
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
• Aid doctors and technicians with appointments and procedures
• Collect patient histories and support client communication
• Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized pets
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital
• Sterilize instruments and prepare surgical packs
• Assist with laboratory samples and diagnostics
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Deliver compassionate care to patients and clients every day

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay

$19 -22/hr and pay range is negotiable based on experience, education, skills, and credentials.

Schedule

Full-time opportunity with rotating weekends.
