Piscataqua Animal Hospital in scenic Kittery, Maine, is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our warm-hearted, high-quality care team.

Responsibilities
- Assist with patient handling, restraint, and basic sample collection.
- Prepare patients for exams and set up treatment areas.
- Support veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures to ensure calm, attentive, high-quality care.
- Advocate for patients and help clients understand visit expectations.
- Maintain hospital operations by restocking, cleaning, prepping equipment, and assisting where needed.
- Commit to continual learning to enhance patient care.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a small-animal hospital or similar animal-care role.
- Proficiency in patient restraint, sample handling, general animal care, and assisting with treatments.
- Clear, compassionate communication skills for team and client interactions.
- Strong time-management and multitasking abilities to stay organized on busy days.
- Positive, patient attitude with a team-first mindset.
- Ability to safely lift and restrain pets up to ~40 lbs and remain on your feet for most of the day.
- Comfortable adapting quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a quality-focused environment.

Pay
$16–21/hour, depending on experience.
