Small Door is a membership-based veterinary care service designed to provide exceptional care for pets, pet parents, and veterinarians. Founded in 2019, we have rapidly expanded across the East Coast, operating in New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Our mission is to offer a modern, stress-free veterinary experience through a membership that includes exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, and transparent pricing.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assess patients and record vitals
• Assist doctors with diagnostics and complete treatments as directed
• Provide basic husbandry and nursing care
• Maintain patient records and monitor changes
• Facilitate radiography and prepare samples for outside labs
• Run in-house labs and administer medications
• Work tele-triage shifts (additional stipend)
• Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant
• Availability to work weekends (Saturdays)
• Comfortable with computers and online tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• A thoughtful and fearless team player
• A go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Skilled at communicating with clients
